Olympus Helm helps you rehearse navigation lights, day shapes, sound signals, and meeting decisions. It is a training aid. It is not a certified navigation instrument and it does not stand in for a proper lookout.

You stay responsible for the vessel, for local rules, and for any special lights used by warships, submarines, or craft in your waters. If a plate and the collision regulations disagree, the regulations govern.

Whistle patterns in the app are shortened so they can be practiced. A real prolonged blast is about four to six seconds. The phone speaker is not a ship's sound-signal appliance.

The app is free. Using it means you accept that the drills are educational and that you will check the rule before you rely on a plate under way.
